A healthy community is one that makes it easy for you to get around and means the foundations are in place for a connected community where we live, work and play. It’s easy to walk through, easy to bike in, and has good transit options, while respecting your need to drive.
Ward 7 is home to some of Calgary’s oldest neighbourhoods and parks. Millions have been invested in roads to improve traffic flow, and while the city has expanded road capacity, the result has been increased traffic volumes through and in our communities, with no corresponding investment in pedestrian infrastructure.
Redevelopment in many communities has been overlooked: pedestrian overpasses need repair and community centres and facilities need reinvestment.
I will be a champion for reinvestment into Ward 7, to connect our communities, revitalize our vital inner-city core and support local businesses.
